Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-16
Earlier version: March 2026.
1. These terms
These terms apply when you use SealedIn. You accept them when you create an account, and you accept this version by ticking the box when you upgrade an envelope to Premium. How we handle your data is in our privacy notice. If you are a consumer, section 12 gives you extra rights and wins where it differs from anything else here.
2. Description of service
SealedIn is a platform that allows users to create time-locked digital envelopes containing videos, photos, and text messages, which are delivered to specified recipients on chosen dates.
3. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use SealedIn.
4. Content
Your envelopes stay yours. You give us permission to store them, and to deliver each one to the recipients you choose and keep it available to them once delivered, with your name or email address as its sender. You confirm you have the right to share what you put in an envelope with the people you send it to. Once an envelope has been delivered, it belongs in its recipients' hands, like an email in their mailbox: this permission for it continues after you close your account or these terms otherwise end, for as long as each recipient keeps it, until they ask us to delete it or close their own account. Drafts and envelopes not yet delivered are deleted with your account. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not break any laws or anyone else's rights.
5. Prohibited use
You may not use SealedIn to send content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these terms.
6. Free and Premium envelopes, and payments
Sending an envelope is free within the free limits: up to 500 MB of photos and video in an envelope, delivered up to 3 years ahead, with up to 10 free envelopes waiting to be delivered at once and 1 GB of storage shared by your photos and videos until they are delivered.
You can upgrade an envelope to Premium, which holds up to 5 GB and can be delivered up to 25 years ahead. Premium costs £4.99 per envelope, paid once, including VAT. You pay by card through Stripe, or with 5 credits bought before 16 October 2026. Credits are no longer sold, and credit balances do not expire.
When you upgrade, you ask us to start straight away, and you agree to these terms by ticking the box before you pay. We email you a confirmation once the envelope is Premium.
If we take your payment but cannot apply it (for example because the envelope had been delivered, cancelled or deleted, or was already Premium, by the time your payment reached us), we refund the full amount to the card you paid with, without you having to ask, within 14 days of the payment. If you have not had it by then, email support@sealedin.app.
7. Delivery
We make every reasonable effort to deliver envelopes on the scheduled date. However, we cannot guarantee exact delivery times due to factors outside our control. We are not liable for delays caused by technical issues, email delivery failures, or recipient availability.
8. Cancelling an envelope, and refunds
You may cancel a scheduled envelope at any time before its delivery date. A free envelope is then cancelled. A Premium envelope goes back to being a Premium draft, which you can change and schedule again. Cancelling does not refund anything automatically. A Premium draft cannot be deleted. Credits used to schedule an envelope before 16 October 2026 are returned to your account if it is cancelled.
Your 14 days. If you are a consumer, you can cancel a Premium upgrade within 14 days, counted from the day you paid, and get a full refund. This right ends if the envelope is delivered within those 14 days, because by then you asked us to start straight away and we have provided the service in full. Until then, cancelling within the 14 days gets you a full refund.
To cancel, tell us clearly that you want to, by email to support@sealedin.app. That is all it takes. You can use the model cancellation form in the annex below, but you do not have to. We will refund you in full within 14 days of your request, to the card you paid with, or as credits if you paid with credits.
9. What we do not promise
We aim to keep SealedIn available and working, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, and it relies on third-party infrastructure. We cannot guarantee delivery to the minute. This does not affect your rights in section 12.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. A Premium upgrade you have paid for keeps the version you accepted when you paid. We will email you before a new version applies to you, and continuing to use SealedIn is never taken as accepting it. Every version stays available at www.sealedin.app/terms/ followed by its version date, such as www.sealedin.app/terms/2026-10-16.
11. If we end the service
If we stop offering SealedIn, we will refund in full any Premium envelope you paid for by card that has not yet been delivered, and refund any credits you have not used, at the price you paid for them.
12. If you are a consumer
Our responsibility to you. If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for business losses: SealedIn is for personal use. If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and that is because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you.
Your rights. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer. Citizens Advice can tell you more about them.
Complaints. If something is wrong, email support@sealedin.app and we will reply within 5 working days and try to put it right. We do not use an alternative dispute resolution scheme.
The law and the courts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
